Instagram And The Myth of Social Change (Preamble)
You want me to get to the point. I get it.
Let’s see if I can cut a few frivolous sentences. Actually, maybe a whole paragraph. I’m sure you don’t need so many references or examples. You know what? Maybe I can just present the point without any context. I don’t even need to build towards the point. No one wants a journey. Less is more, right? Maybe instead of saying anything I'll just post a picture, or an emoji. You’ll know what I mean. Okay, you’ve worn me down. I won’t make anything.
I’ll just repost someone else’s thing. It’s roughly the same as what I wanted to say, and they’re probably better suited to say it anyway. They do usually get all those likes. I’d probably only get a few. And now I won’t have to worry if no one likes it, because it won’t be a reflection of me. It’s a just a repost. No big deal. So why am I even posting at all? I guess I just want people to see. I want them to know where I stand on this Very Important Matter™. They need to know. I’d expect them to already know where I stood on this, but it’ll be in my best interests to get ahead of things before people make any assumptions. If I say nothing people might assume I’m on the wrong side. They’ll think I’m a monster. And if I post what I originally wanted to say it might get misinterpreted.
Best if I just source something from a well-known creator whose position is so crystal-clear that there’ll be no room for error. It might be a bit simpler than my own thoughts, but people aren’t here for complexity, they’re here for reduction. They want the hottest takes, the purest distillation. I need to figure out the simplest version of this story I can tell, and stick with it.
Not like I have a lot of room for real talk anyway. What would I do? Write some extended caption that no one will scroll through or piece together a whole feature from my Notes app and go on a multi-page rampage in my Stories? Nah. Too much. I don’t want it to become a whole thing. Even though it already is a whole Thing. But people don’t want a discussion. They’ve made up their minds. They just want to know where I stand. In the smallest wordcount possible.
And I’ll be damned if I don’t give the people what they want.

Did I even read the whole article or did I just form an opinion based on the headline and the image. Do I even have opinions in the first place or am I just copying the bold letters I have seen and hoping I get good grades and friends.
It just takes a few leaders who walk in the light to shift this paradigm of following evil. We are in a state ready for a paradigm shift, the people are ready to follow honesty and integrity and people who are real, really good. They are tired of the memes and lies and darkness. They are tired of everything around them failing victim to entropy. Where are the Syntropic Leaders of the world? Where are the fearless warriors of light?
